A Western Massachusetts native, Frederick Sienkiewicz was born and raised in Westfield to a family of church musicians, and was inspired to pursue a career in music through the writings of Joseph Campbell. Fred enrolled at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, where he studied with Eric Berlin and earned his Bachelor of Music, summa cum laude. In 2005, Mr. Sienkiewicz came to Boston to study at the New England Conservatory of Music with former Boston Symphony principal Charles Schlueter. Graduating in 2007, He earned a Master of Music degree with academic honors and a concentration in Music-in-Education.

Mr. Sienkiewicz is now actively engaged as freelance performer and trumpet teacher throughout the Greater Boston area and New England. He can be heard performing regularly in local and regional orchestras such as the New Bedford Symphony, Plymouth Philharmonic, Granite State Symphony, Nashua Symphony, Cape Cod Symphony orchestras, and also as a founding member of the newly-launched Neponset Valley Philharmonic orchestras. Mr. Sienkiewicz also has an active career as a chamber musician and soloist. He made his professional debut in October 2007 as a guest artist with the North Country Chamber Players and has since collaborated on performances with OperaHub, the Parkway Concert Orchestra, and Harvard Group for New Music / White Rabbit Ensemble. He also performs frequently in churches and ceremonial occasions throughout New England and is the trumpeter-in-residence at St. John the Evangalist in Hingham, MA.

A versatile, dedicated and entrepreneurial musician, Fred is also an artist-teacher and scholar in the Boston area. He maintains an active and growing private studio through both the Lincoln and Shrewsbury Public Schools and at Gordon College. Not just a practicing teacher, Mr. Sienkiewicz is also a Research Associate at the Center for Music-in-Education at the New England Conservatory of Music, run by Music-in-Education National Consortium director Dr. Larry Scripp, and focuses musical literacy training and assessment.

The past four summers, Fred has spent his summers near Bar Harbor, Maine as a member of the Pierre Monteux School orchestra. While there in 2005 he met the beautiful and talented Horn player, Kristen, and they were just married in October 2009. Together they enjoy the Maine Woods, hiking, bicycling, running, and yoga.
